How does the body hold to its memories? Which of them do we have access to, and which are frozen and unavailable? How do we create space for our bodies to tell their stories?
In the 1995 film "A Little Princess", after being banished to the attic, Sara draws a chalk circle on the floor. In this space, nothing can hurt her. It is there where the memories and stories from her home in India come to life, sheltering her from the grim reality. Drawing a circle on the floor, I also engage in an act of storytelling - this time, however, of the memories held in my body. In a conversation of sharing and exchanges, I draw a map of my body and memories held by its various parts.
